Intelligent Design

It's easy to see that since the natural world is so complex, the only way it could have come into existence is by a creator of some kind, right? For instance, our bodies are beautifully designed machines that regulate many amazing and perfectly synchronized functions.

The only reason our bodies often fail us is because we let Satan into our lives, right? Because we live in a "fallen creation"? Because all people, including children, must be held responsible for an ancient sin committed by people they never knew? Because god transfers sin from the guilty to the innocent?

Or maybe...

Maybe that sounds a lot like the Taliban. Maybe that all sounds pretty ridiculous, not to mention cruel.

Maybe disorders are caused not by sin or evil, but by errors during the growth and division of cells and DNA. Maybe it's just a fact of science that mutations and diseases happen to all living things, including human beings, and we must accept that nature has no bias towards the plight of humans.

This lamb's seven legs are perfectly designed for...um...uhh...

And two heads are perfect for doubling food intake...for the same single stomach?

But who designed these?

No one. No god or intelligent being designed anything.

Isn't it interesting how everything in life makes a lot more sense when religion is replaced with science?

Humans are hairless primates subject to genetic disorders and disease just like any other creature. Bacteria and viruses evolve to survive, just like plants and animals.

No deity is punishing us for the misdeeds of our ancestors.

Nature has no concept of "fair" because it has no conscience. It simply is.
